ROTATES mission

🌱 What if the key to a more resilient future is hidden beneath our feet?
ROTATES believes the roots of the solution are already here, waiting to be unearthed.

The ROTATES Project is on a mission to rethink European agriculture by introducing underutilized root and tuber crops, that are sweet potato, yam, cassava, and taro, into both conventional and organic farming systems across Europe.

These nutrient-rich crops, too often overlooked, hold immense potential for temperate regions facing a tripling demand for sustainable and healthy food.

🌍 From mainland Europe (France, Portugal, Cyprus, Italy, and Greece) to its outermost regions (Madeira, Guadeloupe and French Guiana), and even reaching the Republic of the Congo, ROTATES is planting the seeds of agrobiodiversity, climate resilience, and ecosystem regeneration.

But the impact goes deeper:
🌾 Boosts resilience and biodiversity in European agrosystems
💰 Improves farmers’ income and enhances crop value
🚢 Reduces reliance on imported starchy foods
🥗 Delivers sustainable, nutritious options for food and feed markets

Because crop diversification isn’t just a strategy: it’s a necessity.
